DISTRIBUTE

Distribute is a custom user interface tailored for the needs of Bank of America’s Risk & Finance Technology (Credit Risk) department. The application was designed to solve the problem of automating and managing flows of information between data warehouses by leveraging the powerful Apache
NiFi “Dataflow” software’s API while providing an easy-to-use, secure and extensible UI.
No such application existed so from this needed to be built ground up
DISCOVERY
There were essentially 4 main resources:
Applications (or “Systems”)
Publications - or “Tasks” that produce data and send it to an Application)
Subscriptions - or “Tasks” that consume data from an Application
Datastores - or “Data Sources” in the case of Publications and “Data Targets” in the case of Subscriptions.

Distribute was fundamentally meant to address and automate this complex relationship.
At the start of the project the Design, Product and Tech clearly needed to share a common vision for the discovery, build, test and iterate process as there was no previous references. We decided to use a modified version of the Google sprint process to generate solutions for our ideation and solution process.
USERS
Distribute users are primiarly technical data subscribers and publishers within the Credit Risk domain at BOA .
Distribute was fundamentally meant to address and automate this complex relationship.
